Ryan Tannehill will get the start for the Tennessee Titans against the Jacksonville Jaguars according to Jim Wyatt. This obviously means that Will Levis is not healthy enough to play despite logging a limited practice yesterday. Tannehill will be making his final appearance as a member of the Titans. He was really good for this franchise. There will be time to revisit all of that once the season has concluded.
Tannehill was good when he relieved Levis this past week against the Houston Texans. Maybe he can summon one last efficient performance and end the season for the Jaguars. That would be really fun to watch.
It will be interesting to see what Tannehill does this offseason. I’d say there’s a good chance he ends up with the Atlanta Falcons if Arthur Smith doesn’t get fired. If Smith does get fired, there is no obvious landing spot for Tannehill. Maybe he will just decide to retire. He’s had a solid career and has made a ton of money.
Most people are only going to remember Tannehill for the playoff meltdown against the Cincinnati Bengals. That is sad because he had a lot of good moments as the Titans’ quarterback. He was better in the playoffs following the 2019 season than he gets credit for.
The line on this game has moved from Titans +3.5 to Titans +5.5 back to where it currently sits at Titans +3.5 at DraftKings. The Tannehill news did not move the line at all. The line will go back to the Titans +5.5 range if Trevor Lawrence is confirmed to be playing.
