In case you were wondering, Mike Vrabel still hates losing

The Titans head coach showed some fire in today’s presser

NFL: Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

There have been times during this season when the TV camera has shown Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel on the sideline during a loss and he looked disinterested. A lot of people have questioned where the passing that Vrabel usually exudes has gone. Well, he showed some of that passion in today’s press conference.

Vrabel was asked something along the lines of why it is important to win the week 18 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. His response:

Now this obviously doesn’t help the results on the field at all, but it does show the passion that Vrabel has for the game. You can see that passion still playing out on the field with the majority of the players. I do think some guys have checked out, but the majority of the guys in that locker room are still playing hard. That’s a testament to Vrabel.

There are going to be a lot of questions to be answered over this offseason. One of them will certainly be the job that Vrabel and his staff have done this season. It hasn’t been good enough by any measure - even with the deficiencies in personnel. I’d still like to see him get a shot with the next era of the Titans.
