Titans coaching search update: Where does the process stand?

It has been almost a week since the Titans fired Mike Vrabel. How close are they to replacing him?

NFL: Preseason-New York Giants at Detroit Lions David Reginek-USA TODAY Sports

This time last week we were wondering what the future held for Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans. We know now that Vrabel was fired by Amy Adams-Strunk last Tuesday and that she and Ran Carthon started the process of finding a new coach. Carthon told us the Titans would cast a wide net with this search. They have done just that so far.

You can find all of our updates on the search here, but so far it has been reported that the Titans have requested interviews with the following candidates:

Cincinnati Bengals OC Brian Callahan

Detroit Lions DC Aaron Glenn

Las Vegas Raiders interim coach Antonio Pierce

Dallas Cowboys DC Dan Quinn

New York Giants OC Mike Kafka

Lions OC Ben Johnson

Baltimore Ravens DC Mike Macdonald

Houston Texans OC Bobby Slowik

Philadelphia Eagles OC Brian Johnson

The Titans started the interview process this weekend. They could not interview the coaches who were with teams playing this weekend, but they have already completed virtual interviews with Callahan, Pierce, Kafka, and Macdonald. They plan to complete virtual interviews with the remaining candidates this week.

They haven’t told us what the process will be after the virtual interview round, but my guess is that they will bring at least a couple of these guys in for a face-to-face interview. To hire a coach that is with a playoff team, they will have to wait until his team is eliminated or the team wins the Super Bowl.

Which of these names is your favorite at this point?
