Titans coaching search: Tennessee requests interview with Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald

Add another one to the list in the Titans coaching search

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Tennessee Titans have requested to interview Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald for their vacant head coaching position. Macdonald is another name that has come up with just about every job that has been open in this cycle.

Macdonald is only 36 years old. He has worked for both of the Harbaugh brothers as he was the defensive coordinator at Michigan in 2021. He has been with the Ravens for the past two seasons.

The same concerns are present here as with any defensive coach. Can he hire a good offensive staff, and what happens when his offensive coordinator is so good that he gets hired as a head coach for another team?

The names we have seen reported that the Titans want to interview so far include:

Brian Callahan

Aaron Glenn

Antonio Pierce

Dan Quinn

Mike Kafka

Ben Johnson

The Titans’ head coaching position came open Tuesday when controlling owner Amy Adams-Strunk fired Mike Vrabel after six seasons and a 54-45 record.
