Titans coaching search: Tennessee requests to interview Detroit Lions DC Aaron Glenn

A second name has emerged in the Titans head coaching search

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Tennessee Titans have requested to interview Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn. This is the second name that has emerged with Melo mentioning earlier that the Titans are expected to request to interview Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan. Glenn has been a popular name with all of the coaching searches going on around the league.

Glenn played cornerback in the league from 1994-2008. Since his retirement from playing, he has served as a scout, a defensive backs coach, and the defensive coordinator of the Lions for the past three seasons. The Lions were 23rd in the league in scoring defense last year giving up just over 23 points per game.

My preference is for the Titans to hire an offensive coach so that they don’t have to go through the revolving door of offensive coordinators, but there are plenty of defensive coaches that have had a ton of success in the league.

The Titans head coaching position came open Tuesday when controlling owner Amy Adams-Strunk fired Mike Vrabel after six seasons and a 54-45 record.
