The Tennessee Titans (4-8) and Miami Dolphins (9-3) released injury reports on Friday ahead of Monday’s primetime meeting. One final injury report will be delivered to the media on Saturday given the adjusted schedule. Cornerback Kristian Fulton was OUT with a hamstring injury.
Stop me if you’ve heard this before. Fulton is nursing a hamstring injury. Defensive coordinator Shane Bowen will likely rely on Tre Avery, Sean Murphy-Bunting, and Roger McCreary at cornerback versus the Dolphins. Get ready for Tyreek Hill versus Avery in man coverage. Hill is averaging 123.41 receiving yards per contest this season. He should surpass that on Monday.
The Titans continue to monitor Derrick Henry’s reps after a concussion check forced him out of Sunday’s defeat to the Indianapolis Colts. Henry was limited for a second straight day on Friday. Henry was never placed in the concussion protocol, however, per Sam Phelan. Henry will play Monday versus the Dolphins.
Jeffery Simmons will miss Monday’s game with a knee injury. The Titans won’t place Simmons on IR, indicating his return-to-play timeline should be sooner than four weeks. The Titans will lean on Kyle Peko, Teair Tart, Jaleel Johnson, and TK McLendon Jr. against the Dolphins. Simmons was also revealed to be the team’s Walter Payton Man of the Year earlier this week.
Punter Ryan Stonehouse was officially placed on IR, but still appears on the injury report for now. He shouldn’t be on Saturday’s injury report now that he’s officially off the 53-man roster. The Titans added punter Ty Zentner to the practice squad earlier this week. Zentner will punt against the Dolphins. Linebacker Joe Jones was also added to IR with a finger injury.
Tight end Josh Whyle (knee) did not practice for a second straight day. That bodes bad news for his availability. The Titans also have Trevon Wesco, Kevin Rader, and Chigoziem Okonkwo at tight end.
Left tackle Terron Armstead (knee/ankle) was upgraded to limited. Tyreek Hill (ankle/rest) and Jevon Holland (knees) were also upgraded to limited. The Dolphins are getting healthier at key positions as Monday approaches.
Starting linebacker Jerome Baker (knee) missed a second straight practice. Starting guard Robert Hunt (hamstring) also missed practice for a second consecutive day. Swing tackle Kendall Lamm was upgraded to limited.
