Adam Schefter reported this morning that Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry was in the concussion protocol. Mike Vrabel said at his Monday afternoon press conference that Henry is in fact not in the concussion protocol. Henry was removed from the game yesterday and deemed not able to return because they were concerned about a concussion but was reporting no symptoms this morning. Vrabel said he was in the morning and worked out.
That’s great news for a team that is going to need to try and control the clock on Monday night in an effort to keep the high-powered Miami Dolphins offense off the field. Henry was en route to another special game yesterday with 102 yards and 2 touchdowns before leaving the game. Tyjae Spears did a really good job after Henry went out, but I’m not sure he’s equipped physically to handle 20+ carries - especially over a long period of time.
On the season Henry has 197 carries for 841 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Vrabel did mention that Ryan Stonehouse will have to have surgery so the Titans will be looking for another punter who can also be the holder.
