The Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans released a final injury report on Friday ahead of Sunday’s rematch. Mike Vrabel stated that starting quarterback Will Levis is on track to play after logging three consecutive practices. Vrabel didn’t rule out any Titan on the 53-man roster.
Levis injured his ankle against the Texans two weeks ago. Ryan Tannehill started the Week 17 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks. Tannehill was a downgrade from Levis, completing 18-of-26 passing attempts for 152 yards. Reinserting Levis back into the lineup is the correct decision.
On the defensive line, Marlon Davidson (groin) is questionable. Davidson logged three limited practices this week. Denico Autry (rest) was a full participant on Friday. Outside linebacker Caleb Murphy (shoulder) was limited for all three practices, but may be a healthy scratch regardless of his availability. Defensive linemen TK McLendon Jr. was a full participant and should play versus the Texans.
In the secondary, cornerback Tre Avery (knee) is questionable. Avery practiced in full on Thursday and Friday and should earn the start on the boundary. Caleb Farley won’t play in 2023. Cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (hip) was upgraded to full on Friday. Safety K’Von Wallace (quad) logged two consecutive full practices on Thursday and Friday. Cornerback and special teams ace Anthony Kendall (knee) was limited on Friday.
On the offensive line, guard Daniel Brunskill (ankle) was a full participant on Friday after being limited on Wednesday and Thursday. Brunskill appears primed to return to the starting lineup after missing the Seahawks game. Center Aaron Brewer (knee/ankle) was limited after missing practice on Thursday. If Brewer doesn’t play, Corey Levin could receive the start. Alternatively, Brunskill could play center with Andrew Rupcich logging another start at guard. Jaelyn Duncan was a full participant in all three practices after injuring his wrist against the Seahawks. I’d personally be curious to see John Ojukwu start in place of the struggling Duncan.
Elsewhere offensively, Chris Moore (ribs) logged limited practices all week long. Tight end Trevon Wesco (shin) practiced in full on Thursday and Friday. Wide receiver Kyle Philips (hamstring) appears set to return. Tight end Josh Whyle (knee) is questionable.
Rookie quarterback CJ Stroud was a full participant on Thursday and Friday. Stroud will play against the Titans after missing the first meeting two weeks ago. We’re finally getting Levis versus Stroud, a showdown of two rookie quarterbacks.
The Texans ruled OUT defensive end Jonathan Greenard (ankle). Rookie pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. is questionable despite logging a full practice on Friday with an ankle injury. Defensive tackle Maliek Collins (hip) is questionable.
Cornerback Steven Nelson (foot/hamstring/hand), defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins (ankle), and fullback Andrew Beck (calf) are also questionable.
