Will Levis was listed as a full participant for the Tennessee Titans for the second straight day on Thursday. It looks like he is on track to play Sunday against the Houston Texans. We will see on Friday if the Titans give him an injury designation heading into the weekend.
C.J. Stroud was also listed as a full participant for the Texans. He has missed their last two games, including the first matchup with the Titans, because of a concussion. He has cleared the concussion protocol and should also be ready to play on Sunday.
Stroud has had a phenomenal rookie season throwing for 3,631 yards with 20 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions. It looks like the Texans have found their franchise guy with him. The Titans feel the same way about Levis. If it plays out that way for both teams, these two will be battling each other twice a year for the foreseeable future.
I thought when this season started we would be talking about the Titans being the team with something left to play for in this matchup, but that clearly isn't the way the season has played out. DeMeco Ryans has done a really good job in his first year as the head coach of the Texans who find themselves in a three-way tie at the top of the AFC South with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Indianapolis Colts.
The hope for the Titans is that they can use the high draft pick they will have in the 2024 draft and all of the salary cap space they will have this offseason to be in a much better spot when these two teams play next season.
