We have spent so much time this year talking about how bad the left tackle position has been for the Tennessee Titans - and rightfully so. Both Andre Dillard and Jaelyn Duncan have been terrible there. What we haven’t spent enough time talking about is how bad Aaron Brewer has been at center. Case in point:
Brewer leads the league in pressures allowed by a center and is second in sacks allowed. That doesn’t even take into account the issue he has had with bad shotgun snaps at times.
The move from guard to center was supposed to really help Brewer and the Titans. Brewer even won an offseason award from the team for his work. It hasn’t translated to success on the field.
Heading into this offseason, the only player on the offensive line the Titans shouldn’t be actively trying to replace is left guard Peter Skoronski. They need to at least bring in someone to compete at the other four spots on the line.
It really makes you miss the days when they could draft an interior guy in the late rounds of the draft and Mike Munchak would turn him into a really good player. It happened so many times when Munchak was the offensive line coach. They are going to have to find some of that magic in this draft if the line is going to take a big step forward in 2024 because, with offensive line play struggling across the league, it is tough to find quality players in free agency.
