Titans now own No. 7 overall pick in 2024 NFL Draft

An updated look at the 2024 NFL Draft order, and the Tennessee Titans’ positioning

The Tennessee Titans moved up two spots in the 2024 NFL Draft order following Sunday’s defeat to the Seattle Seahawks. The Titans entered the contest with the ninth overall pick. At the conclusion of Week 16, the Titans now own the No. 7 overall selection, per Tankathon.

It was a whirlwind of a weekend. Following the loss to Seattle, the Titans actually moved up to No. 5 overall, which would guarantee them an opportunity to draft one of Joe Alt, Olu Fashanu, or Marvin Harrrison Jr. The results on Monday Night Football bumped the Titans down two spots to No. 7, however. The New York Giants loss to the Philadelphia Eagles saw them overtake the Titans at fifth overall. Unexpectedly, and perhaps more disappointingly, the unforeseen Kansas City Chiefs loss to the Las Vegas Raiders impacted the strength of schedule (SOS) to help the Los Angeles Chargers leapfrog the Titans via tiebreakers at No. 6 overall.

The 5-10 Titans are preparing to take on the Houston Texans in Week 17. The Titans are 1-7 away from Nissan Stadium and will be playing in Houston. They’re also 0-4 in the AFC South. The Texans, who recently beat the Titans with veteran journeymen Case Keenum at the helm, are expected to get rookie quarterback CJ Stroud back in their lineup. The Texans will be favorites.

The Giants host the Los Angeles Rams. The Chargers travel to square off with the Denver Broncos. The Washington Commanders (4-11) and New England Patriots (4-11), could tie the Titans’ win total in Week 17, but are faced with difficult Week 17 games against the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills respectively.

We’ll continue to keep our readers posted weekly on the 2024 NFL Draft order. It’s unfortunately the most interesting thing happening to Titans football right now.
