Joe Alt has announced that he is opting out of Notre Dame’s bowl game and is declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. At this point in the draft evaluation process, Alt is pretty widely considered the second best offensive tackle in this draft behind Olumuyiwa Fahanu from Penn State. Both guys will most likely go in the top 10.

The Tennessee Titans would be thrilled to come away with either of these guys, but they might end up playing themselves out of having a top-10 pick in this draft. But as Melo wrote yesterday, Will Levis leading this team to some wins down the stretch is more important than ending up with a higher pick in this draft. There will still be plenty of good players for them to choose from in the middle of the first roung.

Here is what the folks at PFF have to say about Alt:

At 6-foot-8, Alt brings elite size to offensive tackle. He’s been even better this year at using that size and length to his advantage, yet he maintains technique with leverage to mitigate any natural weaknesses.
