I don’t think it can be overstated how impressive Will Levis’s performance was last night in the Tennessee Titans' miracle win. His poise and composure to come back after the early pick six and the late fumble was really impressive. There are plenty of veteran starting quarterbacks in the league that wouldn’t be able to do that.
Add to that the fact that ended the night with 327 yards passing while being pressured on almost 50% of his dropbacks:
#Titans OL gave up a ton of pressure last night per PFF charting. Levis saw pressure on 46.3% of his dropbacks. However, he managed to avoid sacks and averaged a ridiculous 10.5 yards per attempt when pressured. Insanely good performance.— Mike Herndon (@MikeHerndonNFL) December 12, 2023
I said on today’s Home Run Throwback podcast (listen here) that the offensive line held up pretty well last night. It turns out that I was wrong. Levis was just really good at mitigating the pressure that was in his face all night.
Can you imagine what Levis is going to be able to do when he has an offensive line that doesn’t give up that much pressure AND more than one legitimate pass-catching weapon? That gives me a lot of hope for the next era of Titans’ football.
