C.J. Stroud injury update: Texans QB in concussion protocol

We will be monitoring this heading into Sunday’s game

C.J. Stroud suffered a concussion in the Houston Texans 30-6 loss to the New York Jets yesterday. That puts his status for Sunday’s game with the Tennessee Titans up in the air. There has not been a player for the Titans clear the concussion protocol in a week this season. I have no idea if that is the case for the Texans or not.

Stroud has had a spectacular rookie season. The #2 overall pick from the 2023 NFL Draft has thrown for 3,631 yards and 20 touchdowns through his first 13 NFL starts. I was hoping that the Titans would find a way to get Stroud in the draft last May because I thought he was going to be a solid NFL quarterback. There was no way of knowing he would be this good this quickly.

Houston might very well have the offensive and defensive rookies of the year on their team this year. That’s just fantastic!

There will be plenty of time to sort all of this out throughout the upcoming week. Between now and then we get to watch the Titans and the Miami Dolphins game tonight.
