There was a lot to digest in Mike Vrabel’s press conference today, but the most interesting thing, well other than Vrable destroying Jared Stillman, was the note that both Malik Willis and Will Levis will play for the Tennessee Titans if Ryan Tannehill can’t go. Vrabel didn’t close the door on Tannehill playing. He did say that Tannehill won’t practice today but he is doing better.
There is an old adage that says if you have two quarterbacks you really have no quarterbacks. I do fear that is the case for the Titans with Willis and Levis. If one of those guys can’t clearly separate himself from the other, they need to be doing everything they can to get a quarterback that can separate himself in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Was that gamesmanship from Vrabel? I hope so because we have all seen situations where teams are rotating quarterbacks. I can’t think of a situation off the top of my head where a team had a good offense while doing that. It is impossible for the offense to get in a rhythm when there is a different signal caller every series or quarter or whatever the rotation time is.
We will, of course, be tracking what happens with the quarterbacks throughout the week.
