Titans trade Kevin Byard to the Eagles

It’s sad to see him go.

Well, we knew over the weekend this was a possibility. The Tennessee Titans are trading Kevin Byard to the Philadelphia Eagles according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. The Titans are reportedly getting a 2024 5th and 6th round pick plus safety Terrell Edmunds.

I can’t say enough about what Byard has meant to this franchise. He has been a great player on and off the field. Unfortunately, with this team going nowhere this season, they are going to start to sell off parts. Byard is the first.

It will be interesting to see who is next. My guess is the Titans will be fielding calls on plenty of veterans including Derrick Henry, Denico Autry and/or DeAndre Hopkins. Anyone that isn’t going to help them in 2025 should be on the block. The most interesting piece of this will be if they move Ryan Tannehill. His ankle injury complicates things, but there could be a team like the Atlanta Falcons or New York Jets that could be interested in him for the rest of this season.

It is sad to see Byard go. He might have been the best draft pick that Jon Robinson made in his tenure as the GM in Tennessee.
