The Titans' defense got by last year on creating turnovers. They would get gashed up and down the field but come up with a timely takeaway. It was pretty amazing to watch.
This year, through three games, the turnovers haven’t been there. That’s been OK because, overall, they have been better than they were last year. If they could give up less yardage AND force turnovers that would be really awesome!
Yesterday the Titans forced zero turnovers but committed three. You already know that is a terrible recipe for trying to win a game. Just how terrible is it? Check out this stat from our old, “retired” friend, Mike Herndon:
Teams with a -3 turnover differential are 19-202-1 over the past 5 years. #Titans trying to do it the hard way today.

Of course the Titans advanced that record to 20-202-1 yesterday. They know they aren’t going to make a living winning games that way, but it’s nice to go out and find a way to win when that happens, especially when said win moves the Colts to 0-3!
