Titans waive K Michael Badgley, add TE MyCole Pruitt to active roster

The Tennessee Titans made a slew of roster moves on Monday afternoon following their embarrassing Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

We hardly knew you, Badgley. We speculated early this morning that Badgley could be cut on Monday following a nightmare performance in the kicking game on Sunday.

One thing to note here: No kicker was added to the roster. That doesn’t mean another move isn’t still coming, but it would seem to indicate that veteran Randy Bullock, who is currently on the practice squad, will serve as the team’s kicker in the Week 2 game against the Seahawks.

Elsewhere, veteran tight end MyCole Pruitt has officially been elevated to the active roster. Pruitt played 15 snaps in Sunday’s contest as a result of being called up from the practice squad. The coaching staff obviously liked what they saw from Pruitt, as he’s now taken Tommy Hudson’s TE3 job.

Pruitt wasn’t the only practice squad player to earn a spot on the 53. Defensive back Bradley McDougald, who was also called up for Sunday’s game, is now officially on the active roster. McDougald played 37 snaps against the Cardinals following the foot injury to Amani Hooker. This move could mean the team didn’t get great news on Hooker’s injury. Grrrrreat. If you want to take the optimistic point of view, it could simply mean they’re going to use one of their practice squad call-ups on kicker Randy Bullock vs. Seattle (which is very likely at this point), and want to make sure they still have Pruitt and McDougald available on Sunday.

Additionally, the Titans signed offensive lineman Christian DiLauro and linebacker Joseph Jones to the team’s practice squad while waiving linebacker Jan Johnson from the practice squad. DiLauro was with the team throughout training camp and preseason. He’s now back in Nashville.

As always, stay tuned to MCM for updates.
