The Tennessee Titans are signing veteran fullback/tight end Donnie Ernsberger, according to a report from Paul Kuharsky. I’ve since then been able to confirm that report.

Ernsberger is a versatile player that’s seen time at both fullback and tight end. He’s known to be a blocking specialist. He spent four seasons at Western Michigan. Ernsberger then broke into the league as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2018. After spending time on their practice squad, Ernsberger was promoted to the active roster in December of 2018. He was released by the Bucs in July of 2019, and would go on to spend training camp with the Jaguars just a few months later.

Ernsberger was drafted by the DC Defenders in the 2020 XFL Supplemental Draft, but the league suspended operations in April of the same year due to Covid-19. Ernsberger will now try to earn a roster spot with the Titans over the next few weeks.
