Mike Vrabel, still in quarantine, talked about the competition at right tackle in today’s press conference. He mentioned there are three guys in the mix for that spot - Kendall Lamm, David Quessenberry, and Ty Sambrailo. Noticeably absent from that list is 2021 second round pick Dillon Radunz:
Mike Vrabel on Dillon Radunz and RT situation: I think where that competition is it'll fall on those three guys (Lamm, Quessenberry, Sambrailo). Dillon will have to keep working. He's shown improvement. Playing guard and tackle, that ability can be a really positive one. #Titans

It is disappointing that Radunz isn’t even in the mix to win the job as the Titans prepare for week 1. The Titans have spent so much draft capital on the right tackle position in the last two drafts and none of that capital will be on the field in week 1.
With all of that being said, there is still the chance that Radunz takes over in week 4 and goes on to have a really good 10+ year career. We saw Nate Davis not win the starting job in his rookie camp but then take over a few weeks into the season. He struggled at first but was really good at the end of the 2019 season and good in 2020.
Here’s to hoping Radunz can have a similar career arc.
