The Tennessee Titans announced a flurry of roster moves to start training camp on Saturday morning.

The first piece of news saw the team bring back a familiar face in veteran tight end Luke Stocker. A 10-year veteran who played at the University of Tennessee, Stocker played with the Titans in 2017-2018. He appeared in 19 games during his two years as a Titan. He most recently played with the Falcons in 2019-2020.

At 6-5 and 253 pounds, Stocker gives the team another big body at the tight end position. It would probably be foolish to consider Stocker a lock to make the final roster, but he sure spices things up at the position. The Titans have to decide whether to keep three or four players at tight end. Anthony Firkser and Geof Swaim are locks. The final one or two spots will be decided between Stocker, Tommy Hudson, Briley Moore, Jared Pinkney and Miller Forristall. There’s a lot going on here.

Meanwhile, the Titans activated outside linebacker Bud Dupree from the team’s Reserve/COVID-19 list. Dupree was placed on the list just two days ago. To see him activated just 48 hours later is great news. It indicates that Dupree was simply in close contact with someone who tested positive. In order to be removed off the list this quickly means that Dupree has since then tested negative for the virus. Now if he can only get off the PUP list...

Also on Saturday, the Titans waived defensive back Quenton Meeks while placing tackle Brandon Kemp on Injured Reserve. Kemp signed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 draft, and spent most of last season on the team’s practice squad. Kemp was injured in Thursday’s practice.

Meeks (6-2, 197) played his college football at Stanford. He totaled 115 tackles, seven interceptions and scored two touchdowns while representing the Cardinals. Meeks has played in the NFL for the Jaguars and Chargers. He originally signed with the Titans in May of this year.
