The former Georgia linebacker was selected with the 92nd overall pick in this year’s draft. The Titans originally had the 85th pick, but moved back to No. 92 and selected Rice after a draft day trade with the Green Bay Packers.
Rice was named to the All-SEC First Team by the Associated Press in 2020. Rice shined during his time with the Bulldogs. He appeared in 47 career games and finished his four years in the program with 219 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, five pass deflections and three forced fumbles.
Rice joins an experienced linebacker core in Tennessee that includes Rashaan Evans, Jayon Brown and David Long Jr. It’s worth noting that both Evans and Brown are entering contract years in 2021.
As noted above, the Titans have now completed deals with their entire 2021 draft class. There won’t be any holdouts. The Titans’ rookie class reported to training camp today, and the veterans will be joining them in a few days.
