Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Larrell Murchison is entering a key sophomore season and he’s acting accordingly. The Titans used a fifth-round pick on Murchison in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Titans need a defensive lineman or two to step up during training camp and prove that they’re worthy of significant playing time in 2021. The departures of DaQuan Jones and Jack Crawford means that there are some snaps up for grabs. Murchison is one of the likelier options to take advantage of that opportunity and see more time on the field this coming season.
Last year, rookies had a difficult time with schedule changes. Instead of attending rookie mini-camp or OTA’s, the pandemic forced Murchison to take part in his first NFL offseason virtually. Murchison appeared in 10 games as a rookie, and recorded four tackles.
Now with a big season looming, Murchison has found an excellent way to improve his craft. Murchison has been working with legendary pass rushing coach Chuck “Dr. Rush” Smith. Coach Smith is one of the best pass rushing trainers in the business. He’s also been working with new Titans outside linebacker Bud Dupree since 2016. He’s worked with just about every sack artist you can think of.

Murchison left his mark at NC State, where he was best known for being a high-effort player. His current arsenal of moves is largely built off his hand usage, where he’s able to string together impressive combos. Murchison is a backfield penetrator that looks to make impact plays.
Murchison will be one of the more intriguing sophomores to watch closely during training camp.
