Julio Jones watch June 2nd

I really thought we would get Julio Jones news yesterday afternoon. It didn’t happen. So now we have entered day 2 post June 1st we wait...and we wait. Teams have their mandatory mini-camps coming up. My guess is that the Falcons and whatever team they end up trading Julio to would like to have a deal done before those start.

My stance on this has been pretty consistent - I believe the current Titans window is open for the next 2-3 years. They will have to change the way they operate once Derrick Henry is no longer the running back he has been for the last 2 years. His current level of production can’t last much past the 2022 season.

That is why it makes perfect sense for them to add Julio now to maximize their chances of getting a Super Bowl in this current window. They can afford to “kick the can down the road” on contracts like Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry if they have a legitimate chance to win a Super Bowl. Julio gives them that.

There has been so much smoke with Julio and the Titans that it is hard to believe there isn’t fire, but as Yogi Berra said, it’s never over until it’s over.

For now, we wait. This thread will be updated throughout the day.
