With the 135th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans have selected Pittsburgh defensive end Rashad Weaver. The redshirt senior stands in at 6-4, 259 pounds, and is an interesting fit in the Titans’ defensive front as a bigger-bodied edge.
At Pitt, Weaver was a productive player. He racked up 17 career sacks in three full seasons, along with 34 tackles for loss. As a senior, playing just nine games, Weaver was credited with 7.5 sacks.
Weaver missed the 2019 season with a torn ACL.
The Titans have a need for more pass rushers, even after the addition of Bud Dupree. Weaver looks to be a powerful guy that can put his hand in the dirt and cause some disruption. Weaver could be that third guy in the rotation right off the bat, slotting in behind Dupree and Harold Landry.
The Titans now will wait until the 6th round to pick again.
