Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that the Tennessee Titans hosted free agent linebacker B.J. Goodson on a visit today.

Goodson is a versatile inside linebacker. He's played in 66 career games, making 43 starts during his five year career. He's spent time with the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns.

Goodson is coming off the best season of his career. He started 14 games and recorded 91 tackles, two interceptions and six pass break-ups in 2020.

Should the Titans sign Goodson, the fit here would be interesting. At a glance, the inside linebacker position doesn't appear to have any needs. With the surprise re-signing of Jayon Brown, and both Rashaan Evans and David Long Jr. still in the fold, it's safe to assume that the first three spots are locked up.

On the other hand, three inside linebackers that played for the Titans last season remain unsigned in Daren Bates, Will Compton and Nick Dzubnar. Those three players are more special teams aces than traditional linebackers that you’d want playing an important role for you.

Should the Titans decide to sign Goodson, he'll provide some quality depth at the position.
