Resetting the Titans needs after round one of the NFL Draft

NCAA Football: Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Well if you thought Jon Robinson was going to play it safe after his historic miss in round one of last year’s NFL draft, you were wrong! Robinson and the Titans were obviously comfortable enough with the medicals on Caleb Farley to select him with the 22nd overall pick last night. There is no doubt that he has the talent to be a lockdown corner in the NFL. The only question is whether or not his back will hold up considering he has already had two surgeries before ever playing a down in the NFL. I love the pick from a talent standpoint.

We said yesterday that the Titans needed to come out of the first two rounds with a corner and a wide receiver. Robinson got his corner. Now the attention turns to wide receiver. Any shot that Elijah Moore slips down the board to pick 53? Probably not. Will Robinson be willing to trade up for him if he slides into the 40s? Time will tell.

Wide receiver is pretty obviously the biggest need the Titans have at this point. After that you are looking at positions like EDGE, tight end and offensive tackle. If they make three picks tonight, which is what they currently have, I would expect them to come at those positions. They will probably need to add another corner and a second wide receiver at some point as well.

Here are the remaining picks the Titans currently have:

Round 2: Pick 53

Round 3: Pick 85

Round 3: Pick 100

Round 4: Pick 126

Round 5: Pick 166

Round 6: Pick 205

Round 6: Pick 215

Round 7: Pick 232
