The NFL owners officially voted to approve a 17th game today. That means the NFL schedule will now be 18 weeks long. Each team will still have one bye week. The preseason will now be three weeks long with a bye week coming between the third preseason game and the first week of the regular season.
The Titans pick up an extra home game in 2021 against the Saints:

I love that the NFL season just got a week longer. More football is definitely a good thing for us as fans.
It is going to take some getting used to, however. There won’t be any more 8-8 teams. What would Jeff Fisher be in this NFL? It is also going to put an assault on the record books. Players are going to have an extra game to set records. Derrick Henry might have run for 2,500 yards last season...if the 17th game would have also been against the Texans.
