Tom Pelissero was the first to report that former Titans cornerback Malcolm Butler has agreed to terms on a 1-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals have signed quite a few older players in free agency this year with Butler, J.J. Watt and A.J. Green. They obviously think they are ready to win now.
I am sad to see Butler go. He was the most consistent player on the Titans defense last season. Granted, that is like being the smartest kid in summer school, but Butler was actually really good last season. The best thing about Butler was his competitive nature. He was always willing to go out there and mix it up.
Butler was pretty much the last player of note that the Titans either didn’t re-sign or cut this offseason to sign. This team, especially on the defensive side of the ball, is going to have a very different look in 2021.
