Carson Wentz is headed to the Colts

Will the reclamation process be successful?

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Philadelphia Eagles James Lang-USA TODAY Sports

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to trade Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts. The deal is reportedly for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first-round pick. The Colts get their quarterback for 2021.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Wentz. He looked Marcus Mariota-level broken last year. Could a change of scenery and a reunion with Frank Reich fix him? That is clearly what the Colts are counting on.

There were reports the Eagles were holding out for multiple first-round picks on Wentz. That was clearly never going to happen. This is a pretty decent return based on Wentz’s play last year and his contract.

So now we know who will be the starting quarterback on opening day for three of the four teams in the division. The lone holdout at this point is the Texans.
