Dianna Russini gave us this update a few minutes ago:
Titans running back Derrick Henry had foot surgery this morning and I was told it all "went well".— Dianna Russini (@diannaESPN) November 2, 2021
Surgery complete, Henry is now recovering.
The 6-10 week recovery begins now. My hope is that the Titans hold him out for the full 10 weeks. The odds of breaking it again are so much higher with a return before 10 weeks. Barring a Titans collapse, they won’t need him to win the division and get in the playoffs.
We have spent so much time talking about what this means for the Titans. It really sucks for Derrick Henry as a person. Not only did he have to have surgery, which isn’t fun #breakingnews, but he lost the opportunity to win the rushing title three years in a row and to become the first ever back to rush for 2,000 yards in back to back seasons.
Here’s to hoping he comes back stronger in 2022 and becomes the first back to ever rush for 2,000 yards in multiple seasons.
