The Titans are signing Adrian Peterson according to Ian Rapoport. He mentions that Peterson will be signed to the practice squad initially but will join the 53-man roster. My guess is that Peterson will get a good number of carries on Sunday night against the Rams.
I have come around a little bit on Peterson since this morning. They obviously aren’t going to lean on him like they did on Derrick Henry. He can be a first and second down guy that can hopefully keep them ahead of the chains. He is going to get 20 carries a game. Can he carry the ball 12-18 times per game and average close to 4.5 yards per carry? That should be plenty for the offense to score points.
Jeremy McNichols should continue to play a similar role as the 3rd down back. He might get sprinkled in for 5-7 carries per game without Henry.
