Tennessee Titans rookie report: Week 7

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Tennessee Titans Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

Something that I’ve been wanting to do is track how the rookies are playing every week. Like the rest of the team, the 2021 Titans’ rookie class has been hit pretty hard by injuries. First-round pick Caleb Farley, Rashad Weaver, and Racey McMath are all currently on IR. Monty Rice missed this game with a groin injury. That’s over half of the draft class. Hopefully, only Farley who tore his ACL, is lost for the year.

Let’s take a look at what the other guys in the class did against the Chiefs:

Dillon Radunz, who was drafted as a tackle but is currently playing guard, got into the game for 22 snaps when Rodger Saffold went out with an injury. Radunz wasn’t great in pass blocking according to Pro Football Focus where he graded out at a 16.3. Yikes! However, he did get a 75.5 grade for his run blocking.

Elijah Molden played 69 of 72 defensive snaps. PFF gave him a 50.2 grade in coverage. It’s always hard to know exactly how they come up with those grades. What I know is that the Titans' defense held the Chiefs to basically nothing in the passing game. We’ll take that regardless of the grade!

The only other member of the draft class active for this game was safety Brady Breeze. He didn’t play any snaps on defense but logged 11 special teams snaps.
