The Tennessee Titans made several roster moves on Tuesday evening as they quickly put Monday night’s exciting win over the Buffalo Bills behind them and prepare to square off with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7. There’s some good and bad news mixed in here.

The season-ending injuries to Caleb Farley and Cameron Batson were all but confirmed on Tuesday morning, but the Titans all but confirmed the severity of both ailments as they placed Farley and Batson on season-ending Injured Reserve. Both players unfortunately suffered torn ACL’s on Monday and will now look to get healthy for the start of the 2022 campaign. It’s a tough break for both players. It’s the second torn ACL for Farley dating back to college. Farley entered the NFL with concerns regarding his back injury. If there’s one saving grace, it’s that season-ending injuries in October usually allow the player to get healthy in time for the following September. It’s also the second season-ending injury for Batson, who went down with a shoulder injury in August of 2019. Batson has been a nice gadget player/return man in recent weeks, and the Titans will miss him.
Additionally, the Titans activated safety Brady Breeze from Injured Reserve. Breeze, a sixth-round draft pick of the team in the 2021 NFL Draft, began practicing with the team at the end of September after being moved to the Designated for Return list. He’s now eligible to play. If active on game days, he’ll immediately play a role on special teams.
The Titans waived punter Johnny Townsend from the active roster on Tuesday. Townsend punted for the Titans in the last three games in place of Brett Kern, who went on the team’s COVID-19 list earlier this month. We wish Townsend the best, but it insinuates that Kern is ready to return to the field immediately, which can’t be seen as anything other than good news.
In news that has yet to be confirmed by the team, ESPN’s Field Yates is reporting that Tennessee will sign cornerback Greg Mabin to their active roster.
The Titans are signing CB Greg Mabin from the Cardinals’ practice squad to their 53-man roster, per source. Mabin was with Tennessee both last offseason and in camp and adds depth after the team lost Caleb Farley for the year last night.

Mabin is currently on Arizona’s practice squad, but will take the promotion onto Tennessee’s active roster. Titans fans will remember Mabin, who has spent plenty of time in Nashville over the years. The Titans are incredibly thin at cornerback with Kristian Fulton and Farley obviously set to miss the game against the Chiefs. Chris Jackson also suffered a foot injury on Monday night, and will likely be touch-and-go throughout the week of practice. With the Titans so banged up at cornerback, we also expect one of Briean Boddy-Calhoun or Chris Jones to be called up from the practice squad.
As always, stay tuned to MCM for updates.
