Todd McShay 2021 NFL mock draft

Can we all agree from the jump here that we will reject any mock draft that doesn’t give the Titans a pass rusher? Sure, the Titans have other needs and will have still other needs that open as free agency happens, but there is nothing they can do between now and the draft to make it where they don’t need to draft a pass rusher. They should pay Bud Dupree whatever he wants.

With all of that being said, we can talk about Todd McShay’s latest mock draft because he gave the Titans a pass rusher. That pass rusher is Joseph Ossai from Texas. Here were McShay’s comments on the pick:

It took a four-sack performance in Week 17 against a woeful Houston offensive line for the Titans to not finish last in the NFL in sacks this season. And they still finished third to last with 19. Harold Landry III was the only player to have more than three sacks (5.5). The pass rush is the biggest flaw in their playoff roster, so this pick comes down to guys like Ossai, Kwity Paye (Michigan), Joe Tryon (Washington) and Jaelan Phillips (University of Miami). With a 3-4 defense, I like Ossai’s fit in Tennessee. He had five sacks and 16 tackles for loss this season, showcasing high-end instincts and speed.

The Titans might need to draft two of the guys McShay listed there.

Would you be happy with this pick for the Titans?
