Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports joined Robby and Rexrode on 102.5 here in Nashville this morning and said that two NFL general managers he has spoken to said that Arthur Smith is the number one head coaching candidate in the field. Robinson cited “scheme versatility” as the reason Smith’s name is so hot.
Per @CharlesRobinson on Arthur Smith, two GMs told Charles that Smith is the No. 1 candidate in the field, over Brian Daboll. One said: "Scheme versatility is a big deal." Cited Kevin Stefanski as an Arthur Smith comparison.

Enjoy these last (hopefully) week(s) with Art because in the words of the immortal Hawk Harrelson, “HE GONE!”
This is a tough loss for the idiots on Twitter that want to say the only reason Arthur Smith has been good here is because of Derrick Henry. People that actually watch football realize that the offense here is just really well designed.
Somebody needs to write a book about Arthur Smith one day because his story is such a cool one. His dad owns freaking FedEx and he was willing to put in years as a quality control guy to get to this point.
As for what is next for the Titans, Mike had a good thread yesterday on Twitter looking at the in-house candidates to replace him.
