As a community, we can all agree to reject any 2021 mock draft that doesn’t have the Titans selecting a pass rusher in the first round, correct? Because the mock isn’t worth our time if the person doing it hasn’t done at least enough homework to know that pass rush is the biggest need. In fact, I welcome mocks that have the Titans drafting a pass rusher in the first AND second round.
Also, the standard pre-free agency caveat applies - needs will be updated after they have signed some free agents. HOWEVA, signing a pass rusher should not discourage mock drafters from giving the Titans a pass rusher in the first round. They absolutely need both!
Today’s mock draft comes from Dane Brugler. You already know that Brugler does his homework, so of course, he has the Titans taking a pass rusher in the first round. That pass rusher is Zaven Collins, EDGE, Tulsa. Here are Brugler’s comments on the pick:
The Titans need to address several spots in their front seven and a versatile player like Collins will be very intriguing to coach Mike Vrabel. At 6-foot-3 and 260 pounds, he can rush the passer or play in space as an off-ball linebacker who creates impact plays. He had 11.5 tackles for loss and four interceptions and scored two touchdowns this season.
Sounds good to me!
Brugler has the Titans taking Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue in the second round. There is a real chance that wide receiver is a big need for this team if Corey Davis signs somewhere else and they cut Adam Humphries.
Would you be happy with this haul?
