Titans sign 14 players to futures contracts for 2021

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans recently signed 14 players to futures contracts for 2021.

  • T Paul Adams
  • WR Rashard Davis
  • TE Parker Hesse
  • WR Cody Hollister
  • TE Tommy Hudson
  • LB Jan Johnson
  • T Brandon Kemp
  • QB DeShone Kizer
  • K Tucker McCann
  • C Daniel Munyer
  • DE Nate Orchard
  • LS Matt Orzech
  • WR Chester Rodgers
  • LB Tuzar Skipper

Skipper is probably the best name on this list. He actually played quite well in run support when he was on the field this season. He should have a chance to make the team again in 2021.

Long snapper Orzech could also be a name to watch, depending on what happens with current long snapper and free agent to be Matt Overton.

Another interesting name here is McCann. The Titans like him quite a bit. Stephen Gostkowski was really good down the stretch, but there’s no guarantee that he’s back in 2021. He’ll be 37 years old by the time next season kicks off. He could very well retire in the coming weeks. Considering the kicking carousel this team has been through over the past 18 months, Tennessee should have plenty of interest in bringing Gostkowski back. If that doesn’t happen, McCann should have a great chance to land the kicking job. It appears as if they prefer him to Sam Sloman, who they released from the practice squad recently.

Futures contract go into effect on the first day of the new league year. Since there are no practice squads during the offseason, teams are allowed to sign players for the offseason as they prepare for the next season.
