Titans sign Doug Middleton

NFL: Preseason-Philadelphia Eagles at New York Jets Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans announced today that they signed safety Doug Middleton. He signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent back in 2016. He was with the Jets until 2019. He spent part of the 2019 season with the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars. He played his college football at Appalachian State.

To make room on the roster for Middleton the Titans released Avery Gennesy. The Titans have been making plenty of roster moves on Wednesdays over the last couple of weeks. Will this be the only signing they make today? Could we see a kicker move? That’s the one I’m waiting on.

The best news of the day is we are just over a week from the NFL kicking off and inside of 13 days before the Titans take the field in Denver. There was a time this summer when I wasn’t sure that was going to happen!
