Paul Kuharsky reported over the weekend that Titans first-round pick Isaiah Wilson was at a party where ultimately the cops were called. You can read the report for yourself and draw your own conclusions on what happened, etc. The real issue here is that he was at a “party” with all of the COVID stuff going on.
He obviously didn’t get COVID at that party because he has been tested multiple times since the incident and hasn’t been held out of practice.
The quotes in the above linked story are a lot of what you would expect. The team is going to handle something like this internally. The hope would be that the veteran guys would have a talk with Wilson to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again. This is about just a decision that could put a player in jeopardy, it is about a decision that could put the whole team in jeopardy because of how contagious this thing is.
You don’t love that Wilson is making a choice like this so early in his Titans tenure (again, not for going to a party but going to a party right now with the NFL protocols). We have seen guys in the past have an incident happen early on and it serves as a wake-up call. Hopefully, that will be the case for Wilson.
