Titans waive OLB Reggie Gilbert, place OLB Vic Beasley on NFI list

The Tennessee Titans made a pair of roster moves Tuesday afternoon and it goes from bad to worse for Vic Beasley, who was placed on the team’s Non-Football Injury (NFI) list.

Beasley can re-join his teammates at practices upon passing a physical.

This means that Beasley took 10 days to report to training camp and has now landed himself on the NFI list. It’s safe to say that the Beasley era in Tennessee has gotten off on the wrong foot. It can only get better from here, right?

In addition to this, Paul Kuharsky is reporting that the reason for the move is because Beasley actually failed a physical.

The Titans have not confirmed that report at this time.

The Titans also waived/injured linebacker Reggie Gilbert. Gilbert was acquired by the Titans in a trade late in the 2019 preseason. The move was made in attempt to bolster the team’s depth at the outside linebacker position.

Gilbert wound up playing in 11 games last season while making five starts. He finished the year with 24 tackles, a sack, seven quarterback pressures and three special teams tackles.

These moves leave the Titans a little thin in the pass rushing department currently. Jadeveon Clowney is still a free agent. I’m just saying...
