Titans release statement on Vic Beasley absence from training camp

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at Atlanta Falcons Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans have finally broken their silence on Vic Beasley. Jon Robinson released a statement via Jim Wyatt:

On Tuesday July 28th, we placed Vic Beasley on the Reserve Did Not Report list. I have been in contact with Vic, he is not here, he understands his absence is unexcused, and he told me he will be reporting to camp in the near future. Our current focus is on the players that are here now, getting everyone acclimated to the protocols, our building, and our football program. We will have the same acclimation process with Vic when he reports.

At least this lets us know that they have heard from Beasley and he appears to be OK. With that being said, this is a disaster. They paid that guy a A TON of money to help them fix the biggest issue on their defense.

We already know there are reports from Atlanta that his commitment level isn’t what it needs to be. It sounds like Jon Robinson and Mike Vrabel thought they could fix that. They aren’t off to a good start....
