The Titans will be reporting to training camp in the next couple of days, though it will be a while before we actually see them on the field. In the mean time we are going to take a look at each position group to see where the Titans are with said group. We start today with the quarterbacks.
Who will be in camp*: Ryan Tannehill, Logan Woodside, Cole McDonald
This group is in the top 2 or 3 of concern for me on this roster. Sure, they are good at the top. The Titans invested in Tannehill to the tune of a 4-year contract with $91 million guaranteed. We will see if he is able to pay off for that contract, but I think we all feel pretty good with Tannehill under center.
The issue is behind him. You have Woodside and Cole McDonald who have a combined 0 regular season NFL snaps between them. The bonus to Woodside is that he was in the building last year, so at least he is familiar with the offensive system.
The Titans say they are comfortable with this group, but I would be really surprised if they didn’t add someone if Tannehill were to go down with any kind of significant injury.
*Some players may not end up coming to camp with the announcement that initial rosters are getting trimmed from 90 to 80.
