Report: Titans decline 5th year option on Corey Davis

Pretty easy choices for Jon Robinson here.

It is being reported by Tom Pelissero that the Titans have declined the option on Corey Davis. This really shouldn’t come as a surprise - especially if you read the excellent breakdown Mike did. I am not ready to call Davis a bust by any means, but there is no way they can pay him somewhere around $16 million next year based on what he has done with this team so far. He is valuable to this team, but no one is paying him anywhere close 16 million per year on the open market.

Now Davis has a chance to do exactly what Jack Conklin did last year when the Titans decline his option - go have a breakout year and make himself a ton of money on the open market. There was a lot more going on with Davis last year than most people know. I look for him to put up good numbers in 2020.
