2020 NFL Draft: Titans take App State RB Darrynton Evans in third round

NCAA Football: Sun Belt Conference Championship-UL Lafayette at Appalachian State Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

The Tennessee Titans have filled another need, selecting running back Darrynton Evans in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Evans is out of Appalachian State.

The 5-10, 203 pound back will slot in behind Derrick Henry, likely filling the Dion Lewis role from last year. Evans entered the draft after his redshirt junior season.

Last year, Evans ran for 1,480 yards and 18 touchdowns. He caught 21 passes for 198 yards, scoring five more times. He was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Year for his efforts.

At the combine in February, Evans ran a 4.41 in the 40 yard dash.

So the Titans clearly have the workhorse in Derrick Henry for at least another season on the franchise tag, now they add a speedster in Evans as a change of pace back and potential returner.
