2020 NFL Draft: Titans select OL Isaiah Wilson with 29th pick

Jon Robinson beefs up the OL.

The Tennessee Titans have selected tackle Isaiah Wilson out of Georgia with the 29th selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. The move makes sense considering the loss of right tackle Jack Conklin via free agency, but the team did resign Dennis Kelly, who has been in the system and is likely still expected to start.

We heard about a possible trade back all week, but after numerous trades ahead of the 29th pick, Robinson’s hand was forced. Instead of going with a cornerback like Jeff Gladney or Kristian Fulton, Robinson opted to play the long game and take his likely future right tackle.

Wilson checks in at 6-6, 350 pounds. He entered the draft after his redshirt sophomore season in Athens. Can he push Kelly for the starting job at right tackle? It may be tougher than ever this year, considering the uncertainty around the offseason schedule. But at the very least, Tennessee adds some immediate depth here and a starter down the road.

Cornerback, defensive line and running back stand out as the remaining needs heading into day two.
