Mel Kiper has released his final 2020 first round NFL mock draft. While most of the interwebs have transitioned to the Titans taking and offensive tackle in the first round, Kiper is sticking with Yetur Gross-Matos. That has been Kiper’s most consistent pick to the Titans throughout this process.
I don’t think that’s what ends up happening tonight because I still think that Jadeveon Clowney ends up with the Titans after the draft. Adding Clowney to what they have already done in free agency with the signing of Vic Beasley and the re-signing of Kamalei Correa gives the Titans enough of an upgrade over last year’s pass rush. They don’t need to spend their first round pick there.
If the draft plays out tonight like it did here for Kiper, I would rather see the Titans pick RT Isaiah Wilson or CB Jeff Gladney- neither of which went in the first round here.
Kiper’s thoughts on the Gross-Matos pick:
Tennessee is another team to watch for an offensive tackle, but the front seven could use a boost. Gross-Matos could help fill the void left by Jurrell Casey’s departure.
