Titans News: Draft Week!

NCAA Football: College Football Playoff National Championship-Clemson vs Louisiana State Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

It’s finally here, everyone! The week of the 2020 NFL Draft. For a few days we will have something resembling live sports on, and I couldn’t be more excited. It kicks off on Thursday night at 7 CST.

Chad Reuter has the Titans selecting Kristian Fulton out of Louisiana State University, the 2020 NCAA National Champions. Also, for those keeping track at home, they are the last team to win a championship in any major American sport and it looks like they will continue to be for some time.

I like this pick, but I don’t know if Fulton is ever going to develop into a #1 CB for a team. By the end of LSU’s season, he was the 3rd best guy behind Stingley and Vincent (I wish Vincent would have declared).

In the 2nd round, Reuter gives the Titans Brycen Hopkins, son of former Titan Brad Hopkins. I don’t like that pick because its a TE and we have more pressing needs. In the 3rd round we get JK Dobbins, who would be a STELLAR pick.

The Titans have again publicly addressed the Clowney situation, and my opinion remains that I believe he will be a Titan, they are just waiting on a medical before they commit to him.

The Jim Wyatt mailbag experience was ok this weekend, to no fault of Jim’s. He gets an odd Jeff Fisher question and a bunch of draft questions.

It sure sounds like the Titans will be looking for a new backup QB this offseason, through the draft or in FA afterwards.

Gil Brandt gives pro comparisons to all the top draftable QBs, and somehow his top rated QB gets one of the worst comps.
