Titans place Trevor Daniel on COVID-19 list

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans have placed practice squad punter Trevor Daniel on the COVID-19 list. Daniel is the first Titan to go on the list since November 16th, when linebacker David Long Jr. went on the list.

The good news is that the facility remains open. That would suggest that there is no reason to fear that another organizational outbreak is occurring. It feels like most NFL teams have dealt with COVID-19 issues as of late. Meanwhile, the Titans have done a good job staying in the clear since they put their disastrous outbreak behind them (knocks on wood).

Daniel served as the team’s punter in Week’s 10 and 11. He was released and placed on the practice squad when Brett Kern returned from injury in Week 12. The timing of that worked out well.

It’s unclear if Daniel tested positive for COVID-19 himself or just came in contact with someone who did. At this time, we haven’t heard of any high risk contacts being involved. With Daniel being a punter on the practice squad, it feels unlikely that this will affect the team’s ability to play this Sunday against the Jaguars.
