Titans make a handful of Saturday roster moves

Brett Kern is back, baby!

NFL: Tennesse Titans-Training Camp The Tennessean-USA TODAY NETWORK

I have never been more excited to see a punter added to the active roster. The Titans announced earlier today that Brett Kern has been activated from IR. We speculated that would be the case when he was designated for return earlier this week. Kern not only gives the Titans their punting weapon back, but he should also handle the holding duties on field goals and extra points.

As has been the case pretty much every Saturday this year, there were plenty of other roster moves made today as well. The Titans activated LB David Long from the COVID-19 list. That is big with Jayon Brown being out for the year. They also activated CB Tye Smith from IR.

The team also elevated Will Compton, who will wear the green dot in the game tomorrow, and Tuzar Skipper, and LS Matt Olsen from the practice squad. Skipper is a COVID-19 replacement with CB Chris Jackson being added to the COVID-19 list.

They also added OLB Brooks Reed to the practice squad. Reed played for Mike Vrabel in Houston.
